Farideh Saffari
Farideh Saffari works with pens, pencils, inks, acrylics, oils and digital mediums. She was born in Iran. In early childhood she drew and painted all the time. She copied the illustrations out of her children’s books and drew from her imaginary world. She illustrated and wrote her own children’s books. At age nine her talent was discovered by her teacher and she was put in art classes.
She received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Alzahra University in Tehran in 2014 and her Master’s degree in Illustration at University of Tehran in 2016. She was accepted into the MAWA Mentoring Program for 2018-2019 in Winnipeg. She has exhibited in many group exhibitions. In Winnipeg Canada she has showed at the MAWA members show, AceArt gallery members show and Fleet gallery. In Tehran-Iran she has exhibited her work at the Ehsan Gallery, Saba Art Gallery, Naghshe Jahan Gallery and Kamal-aldin Behzad Gallery. She participated in Winnipeg Game Jam, November 2018 and Creation Lab, February 2019. She is currently working on, From Sun to Ice, a series of digital and traditional drawings about her immigration experience. She will be participating in the Mawa mentees show in November 2019 and she will have two more book covers coming out in 2020. |
